About Me

After earning a degree in Business Management, I realized shortly after that pursuing a career in this area wasn’t the right fit for me. Hands-on involvement and having a direct impact on the outcome of a project is what I find fulfilling. I became interested in programming after reflecting on my high school IT classes, which were always my favorite, and speaking with friends who studied and worked in computer science and programming, learning about the captivating projects they were working on. The inherent problem-solving nature of technology fascinated me. At first, I assumed that because I didn’t have a computer science or STEM degree, these doors were closed for me, but after researching other routes I decided to take an online full stack bootcamp with Boolean as well as a self-paced front-end engineer course with Codecademy.

Four years in Business School equipped me with a unique perspective that is invaluable in roles that involve understanding client requirements, project management, and collaborating in cross-functional teams. In combination with the knowledge gained from my coding courses I feel confident that I can start a software engineering role.
